The Dyno has arrived!

Well after a few delays and a couple of hurdles, the dyno is finally here! It is a Dynocom chassis dyno with a load cell. It is their 15,000 series- capable of holding 1800 lbs/ft and 240+ mph.

*** The dyno and all tuning are done by our partners MPT Performance

Winter Park Concours d’Elegance

Downtown Winter Park hosted its annual Concours d’Elegance car show. If you have never attended one, it is a a large collection of high-end exotic cars. There porches, Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s, Bentley’s, Rolls Royce’s, a Bugati, and the list goes on- you get the general idea. It is nice to see some of these rare cars that you only see on tv or in magazines.

Despite all these very nice cars that I will more than likely never have the priviledge to drive, let alone own, this was not my kind of crowd or car show in general. I like “car” people. People who are not afraid to modify their cars or give them some sort of personal touch To me, completely stock is boring even if it costs a half million dollars. I like to see the little touches people do to make their car unique. For example, at the winter park show, there would be a group of 3 Ferrari’s or 3 Lamborghini’s or BMW’s in a row. All nice cars I would love to have; however, they were all the same. Nothing set them apart. On the other hand, at the Longwood show Saturday evening, there would be a group of 3 mustangs or camaros or hot rods. Even if they were the exact same year and model, something would be different. Maybe different exhaust or different interior or exterior modifications or engine add ons. My point being, the owners had put a piece of themselves into their cars. These are the people and cars I really like to see.

UPDATE: Drag racing permanently halted at Central Florida Racing Complex

Orange County commissioners and Mayor Jacobs decided not to allow drag racing at Central Florida Racing Complex. While all drag racing has been cancelled, the track will remain open for autocross and drifting.

Support our local tracks

One of our local tracks, Central Florida Racing Complex (CFRC), has been forced to close while county commisioners decide its fate.

Here is a quick update from there website:

On Wednesday, June 27, 2012 Commissioner Thompson held a community meeting at the Taft Community Center to address issues and concerns surrounding the Application for Special Exception to the Board of Zoning Adjustment and the Board of County Commissioners by the Central Florida Road Course (CFRC).  Representatives from CFRC, residents of South Chase, Environment Protection Department and Code Enforcement were present to address issues the noise as it pertains to CFRC and the role CFRC plays in taking racers off the streets of Orange County.

In a concerted effort to work collaboratively with the County and residents of South Chase, the Central Florida Road Course has effectively ceased all drag racing at the complex until final determination of the Board of County Commissioners.

The hearing before the Board of County Commissioner will be on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.  Please come and show your support for the Central Florida Road Course.  Contact Track Manager Vinny Barber at 407-812-4004, to let him know if you plan to attend.

KEEP THE TRACK OPEN –SAVE LIVES
